Meet the team behind Inside American Football Magazine
Garry Neesam - Editor & Webmaster
Garry's interest in American Football started as a teenager in the late 1970s when he used to listen to live games on the American Forces Network in Europe in the early hours. When the game came over to Channel 4 in the 1980s he became even more hooked & together with 3 other guys, started his own team, which he ran for several years.
Most of his playing career was as QB but 2 broken legs meant moving to a less dangerous position and his playing career ended as a tackle & player/coach.
Marriage & kids took him away from the game until his passion for photography and the sport found him back on the sidelines in 2009.
Mike Revell - Staff Writer & Designer
Mike is a writer based near Cambridge.
His American football musings can be found dotted around the web. He is an Essex Blades graduate, a Cambridgeshire Cats wideout, and a Rams fan who longs for the curtains to open on the Greatest Show on Turf once more.
Mike designed the website logo & does the front pages of IAF.
Luke Hill - Staff Writer
Luke's interest in American football came from his time at the University of Hertfordshire when he moved into a house with one of the Hertfordshire Hurricanes and spent many hours playing Madden 04.
He started following the Indianapolis Colts and Football in the US for the next 4 years. His interest culminated in Luke joining the Hertfordshire Hurricanes to play D-line for one year where he discovered a new love for the game.
Luke teaches Maths and Psychology in Hertfordshire.
Peter Barker - Staff Writer
Peter is a Philosophy and Journalism student and another Hurricane from Hertfordshire Uni.
Despite competing in a wide range of sports for most of his life, Peter's first contact with American Football was not until a flag-football coaching course in 2008, taken to complete a more general Community Coaching Award. Joining the Hurricanes in 2009, Peter threw himself fully into the sport, becoming one of the most committed NFL fans at the Uni and developing admiration for the Vikings and Jets, but inexplicably supporting Cincinnati.
Peter is Sports Editor for FAME, a student-supporting, charity-funded website and magazine based in Hertfordshire.
Nathan Sharrocks - Staff Writer
Nathan is a Journalism student at the University of Central Lancashire.
He became interested in American football when him and a group of friends chose to support an NFL team each in 2001. Nathan picked the New England Patriots because of the 'England' part of the name and has been hooked on the sport ever since. He has also got into NCAA football, following the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and more importantly the British game, following his local team, the Lancashire Wolverines.
Nathan mixes his passions of American football and writing by running NFL Digest, a blog offering opinions on the National Football League.
Stuart Holland - Staff Writer
Stuart has been watching NFL since 2004/2005 and is a passionate Bucs fan. He has been wanting to play the game for some time. His chance came when he started an Automotive Engineering degree at Hertfordshire University in the 2009/2010 season.
This being his first season of competitive American football, he played both guard & a small amount at tackle on the O-line for the Hertfordshire Hurricanes.
